Will you move forward in a specific area of your life today?
Emotional Will you make progress on an interpersonal level with at least one person? That could mean enhancing your relationship with someone helpful or distancing yourself from someone who is not helpful.
Physical Will you improve your physical health? Do “more than before.” I wrote about that years ago: Exercise needs to be more than before. Exercise only works if you are doing more than before. Whatever form of exercise you practice, do more today. Walk or run farther or faster. Lift a heavier weight or the same weight more times.
Spiritual This isn’t limited to religious. Will you enhance your mind by being grateful, meditating, or studying? This is one of the biggest changes in my life in the past few years. I’m learning about meditation and changing my mindset to find the uniqueness and beauty in each interpersonal encounter.
Mental How can you improve your mind today? Will you exercise the creative portion of your mind? More than just simple puzzles, try putting new thoughts on paper. Write a 1 page short story. Search the internet for “writing prompts” to get an idea for a story.
If you improve yourself in one or more of these areas each day, you will stop comparing yourself to others because you will be empowered with your growth.
